INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
A Happier, Healthier You
I use evidence-based therapies to assist individuals to overcome their difficulties. The therapeutic approaches I use are: Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Schema-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, and Systemic Therapy. I often use a combination of therapeutic approaches to meet the specific needs of my clients. I believe each person deserves to be treated kindly and with respect, and that the therapeutic relationship is a vital component of treatment.
COUPLES THERAPY
Resolving Relationship Issues
Prior to training as a clinical psychologist, I worked for a number of years as a generalist psychologist and marriage and family counselor. Therefore, in addition to relationship therapy skills, I am especially able to help couples navigate through difficult times where one has a diagnosed mental illness (such as anxiety or depression). In my therapy sessions, we’ll work together using a combination of Systemic Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to resolve long-standing and current relationship problems.
GROUP THERAPY AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Creating Change Together
Group therapy is an effective, enjoyable, and cost-effective therapy option. Participants may initially feel intimidated by the concept of taking part in a therapy group, but most report that it is a very beneficial treatment due to the added social support a group provides. Groups are kept small (between 5 to 12 participants) to ensure that each person is able to receive individual attention as required, and the group is kept cohesive.
